But I can only hope this saves anyone else from this issue. Works like a charm! I have to get on the horn with tascam and figure out why this is. I would send and receive midi from the m-audio and audio from the Tascam or my Zoom r16. To get around this I would use an aggregate device out of the M-Audio interface I have and tascam. Turns out it likes to send too much midi out or something because it is the device that was crashing my DX7 and corrupting it for days at a time. I was using the Tascam 20x20 for my primary midi output and input. I figured out the issue!! For anyone reading this and suffering from future issues of the same nature. Quick google search didn't find useful hints to change midi baud rate. Any of the extension cards might improve the Midi handling but it's no guarantee that it solves your issue.Ībleton: I don't know. I could lend you a Supermax extension (I have one spare laying around still in its protective foil) - to try out but this involves opening the DX and plugging it in. very hard to tell from the distance what else to try without spending money. Furtherm it sends/receives single notes so the processor and midi hardware are okay. If all the patches currently loaded on the DX work as expected then I don't think the memory is bad. Oh and the battery shows 2.8.It seems you ruled/tried out a couple of things already. Is it possible I just got two bad apples? It just seems too crazy to be true. is there a way to slow midi on Ableton? But I don't even know if it'll help. I still have my old computer and ran it through that and lo and behold, the same issue! Ha! Too bad they aren't still under warranty. I also tried a M audio interface as well and got the same issue.
